I made a mistake 8 months ago. The mistake I made was in not contacting Serenity Homes of Oregon when I left residential treatment the first time last May.
After my unfortunate relapse last July, I was despondent.. I knew I had a heartfelt desire to achieve permanent sobriety, but I just didn't know what piece of the puzzle was missing. After spending a long time with my residential counselors, I realized what I needed was a safe supportive home where I could build on the tools I already had. What was missing was Serenity Homes of Oregon. Through their amazing program, I now have been in recovery longer than any other time in my life. I firmly believe that without the friends and family bonds I have made at Serenity Homes of Oregon, I could have not made it this far.
